Albany -- The Albany movie "Facing the Giants" is a big seller in its first days available on D.V.D. Sherwood Baptist Church Ministers say they are thrilled with the huge response.
Clerks at Family Christian Stores were busy Wednesday morning handling sales. The list of people who pre-bought the DVD there is several pages long.
"Giants" went on sale Tuesday and is already number 16 on Amazon-dot-com's best seller list and number one on the Christian Cinema web site.
Producers say it sold out at Wal-Marts in Albany, Americus, and Tifton and at the Albany Target and Circuit City stores. Betty Powell said "I pre-ordered it a couple of months ago, I guess. Why? Because I wanted to see it. Because I didn't get to go to the movies."
"Facing the Giants" was made by Sherwood Baptist Church ministers and volunteers for about one hundred thousand dollars. It did ten million dollars in ticket sales at the box office.
Now the sales for the Christian-themed movie are again making big Hollywood news.
