DW gets parking lot help

January 26, 2007

Albany-  Neighborly land owners are making it possible for Deerfield Windsor to expand its upper campus.

The landowners across Friar Tuck agreed to loan the land between Nottingham and the neighboring apartment complex to the school at no cost. Deerfield will expand its parking lot and add something the school's never had, a practice soccer field.

"When we have events we just don't have adequate parking because we have good attendance, especially events like Grandparents Day and the big rivals during basketball and football games, graduation day, and things like that, so that's going to really enhance our situation as far as parking is concerned," said W.T. Henry, Headmaster.

Deerfield Windsor's soccer team has to practice at Darton College or the YMCA because the school doesn't have a field.
