Valdosta - A Valdosta man was killed when his friend ran a stop sign and hit a tree.

25 year-old Joshua Knowles was thrown out of the car and killed after it slammed into a tree of Mt. Zion Church Road just after midnight.

Police say 24 year old Craig Schmidt was driving the vehicle.

Investigators say he'll be charged with vehicular homicide.
