Valdosta - The Department of Defense will soon unveil it's newest non-lethal weapon in Valdosta.
It's called the The Active Denial System and is the first non-lethal, directed energy, counter-personnel weapon developed by the Department of Defense.
The weapon uses beam millimeter waves that when targeted toward an enemy target, will cause a intolerable heating sensation on the skin without causing injury.
This will allow the military to better engage targets in combat zones without injuring innocent civilians.
The demonstration will be held at Moody Air Force Base Wednesday morning.
