Shellman -- The Randolph-Southern basketball program saw a milestone reached not once, but twice this season, as both Michael Gonsolus and Samantha Worthy have crossed the one-thousand point plateau in their career.
Both players say they were unaware they were approaching the mark until just a few days before it happened.
The rare accomplishment doubled this season for the Patriots, as it is very unusual for a high school to have two players scoring over one-thousand points in their career.
Gonsolus says he was surprised. "They told me that it doesn't happen very much, so that's good," says the senior. "It just kind of came out of nowhere, I guess."
Worthy says, "I always thought I had a chance, but I had to work real hard to get here. We want to try and win region, or just do the best we can."
The Patriots travel to Tiftarea in a region game Tuesday.
