Colquitt Co. Schools get crisis call network

January 17, 2007

Colquitt County-  Colquitt County School system parents shouldn't be alarmed when they get a message from the superintendent Thursday.

The school system plans to test it's new crisis call network.  The new network allows the school district to send out a mass message to parents, whether there's an emergency or if the district wants to warn parents report cards have been sent out.

"It's what's now available the quintessential way to communicate effectively and quickly with parents and we would use it in the event of an emergency," said Leonard McCoy, Colquitt County Superintendent.

The system will cost the district about $2.50 a student a year.
