Valdosta - Officials with the Air Force office of Special Investigations and the Department of Justice are still looking the circumstances involving the mysterious disappearance and reappearance of an Air Force Major stationed at Moody Air Force Base.

Major Jill Metzger disappeared last September while shopping in Kyrgyzstan where she was wrapping up a four month deployment.

She re-emerged three days later and since no clear story has surfaced about what had happened.

Air Force officials say they are continuing to determine what happened and how to keep it from happening in the future.

Through a statement, Moody said, "This investigation takes time and can involve many different agencies, including those outside of DOD in some cases such as this.  Major Metzger has returned to work at the base and Moody's focus remains to re-integrate her to her military duties, while ensuring she continues to receive long-term recovery care.

The Air Force and Moody will await the final investigation report before releasing additional information."
