Sylvester - - A van and semi truck collision sends one of the drivers to the hospital with serious injuries.

It happened on Main Street and Franklin in Sylvester. Police say 59-year-old James Daniels was driving his van south on Main Street and 62-year-old Floyd Roddy was driving a semi-truck east on Main Street.

They ran into each other. Daniels was thrown from the van and had to be taken to Phoebe Worth Medical Center.

"He was pretty well skinned up. He was very lucky. The good Lord looked out for him. He was thrown out of the van, and he hit the pavement there, and he was very lucky," says Sylvester Police Chief Tony Strenth.

Both drivers say they had the green light. Neither has been cited, police are still investigating the accident.
