Sylvester - - A Sylvester school teacher bonds out of jail on charges he assaulted a student.

Worth County Middle School teacher Kenneth Holland posted a $500 bond on two counts of simple battery.

Sylvester police say a complaint from a parent that Holland left bruises on his 8th grade son sparked an investigation.

Police issued a warrant and arrested Holland on the misdemeanor charges.

A court hearing is being scheduled. Worth County Superintendent Dr. Gary Russell says he supports Holland and feels he did not use excessive force on the student.
