Tifton - A Moultrie man is under arrest, after leading Tifton Police on a high speed chase through the city.
26 year-old Michael Tumblin tried to elude police last night after they tried to pull him over for running a stop sign. They say Tumblin was driving so dangerously that they ended up calling off the chase due to fears for public safety.
Tumblin however continued to drive out of control until he lost control of his Chevy Lumina, overturned his vehicle and ran into an oak tree.
State Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol were called to the scene after a man flagged them down and told them about the accident.
Tumblin was taken to Tift Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. He is being charged with failure to maintain lanes, and DUI.
Charges have also been brought against a separate man who led deputies on a chase through Tift County Sunday night.
Tift County deputies spotted 27 year-old Joseph Terrell of Ty Ty driving a Ford Mustang reported stolen by a family member.
When deputies tried to pull him over, Terrell led them on a high speed chase with speeds reaching 120 miles per hour. He was caught after he drove over a spike strip.
Terrell is being charged with attempting to elude law enforcement, theft by taking motor vehicle and 10 other traffic violations.
