Atlanta - It's only the second day of the 2007 Georgia Assembly session and State Senator Tim Golden is already taking on some large responsibilities.

Tuesday morning Lt. Governor Casey Cagle appointed Golden secretary of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which is responsible for the annual state budget.

He was also appointed to the state finance committee which writes the tax laws.

On top of that, he was also reappointed to his positions on the Insurance and Labor Committee as well as the Committee on Higher Education.

Senator Golden represents District 8 covering Thomas, Brooks, Cook, and Lowndes Counties.
