Sylvester --  The 16-year-old girl was driving north on MLK Street in Sylvester around two a.m. Sunday when she hit 54-year old Clovis Williams.

Williams was walking near Club Celebrity, about a block south of the police station. Police say the teenager didn't stop, but went back home and got her mother and then returned to the scene.

She told police she was blinded by a glare and ran off the road and hit Williams, who died at the hospital.

"A pedestrian was walking, headed east on the north side of the street," said Sylvester Police Chief Tony Strenth. "There was car coming in on the west side coming into town the car veered off the road hit the pedestrian."

The Worth County High student was taken into custody, and had an appearance before a juvenile court judge in Tifton Monday. She's charged with hit and run, vehicular homicide, and driving past curfew.
