Albany -- Two Albany teenagers are charged with a string of burglaries in central Albany.

18 year old Joshua Potter and a 16 year old were arrested early Saturday in the West Fourth Avenue area. Police say they were carrying flashlights, screwdrivers, and other burglary tools. Investigators say the two teens broke into six houses over the last month on West Third and West Fourth Avenues.

Police say neighborhood watch and intensified patrols in the area led to the arrests. Lt. James Williams said "I want to say that this probably contributed to the neighborhood watch program. Catching these two individuals. People being nosy, calling the Police when they see a suspicious person."

Albany Police say burglaries have been on the increase recently, and they have been intensifying patrols in problem areas.
