Albany - It won't be long now before runners from all over the country converge on Albany for the Snickers marathon. So far, registrations have been received from 14 states and runners from other countries have also called to find out more about the marathon.

Proceeds from the event will go toward building an in-patient hospice care facility for Southwest Georgia. It'll also benefit local merchants. Sara Underdown says, "It's to help our residents feel good about where they live and work and then the other side of that is you bring in people from outside the area so you have the economic impact of them staying with us in our hotels and eating in our restaurants."

The marathon and half marathon are on March 3rd. If you want to run, you need to register before race day.
