Valdosta - Lowndes County and Valdosta are looking for ways to keep College kids in town after graduation.

Members of the chamber of commerce hope appealing to inventors in Lowndes, Brooks, Echols, and Lanier counties could help.

They want to link the inventors with Valdosta State University and Valdosta Technical College.

They hope by linking the two, they would offer support to the inventors while having the schools help develop the ideas into local businesses.  "Hopefully it would be something that would create jobs as they move forward with it so it would provide jobs to the college and university graduates," says Jud Rackley with the Lowndes-Valdosta Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber officials hope the move could also help create higher paying jobs in the community.
