Albany -- A South Carolina sports company came to town this weekend to measure the course set for the Albany Snickers Energy Bar Marathon. Representatives from RMS Sports spent both Saturday and Sunday morning marking the streets along the marathon course.

Numbers from the Albany Convention and Visitors show there are up to 120 people registered for the full marathon and more than 80 registered for the half marathon. Those people are coming from 13 different states.

The local Albany Run/Walk Group has more than 75 members signed up.

"Out of our 112 members probably half of them are running a marathon for the first time because it's now accessible to them. There's no traveling and it's a great course, so we're excited," said Albany Run Walk Program Director Paula Bacon.

The Albany Marathon is set for March 3rd. To see the full course visit www.albanymarathon.com
