Atlanta -- Former Crisp County basketball stand-out Lewis Clinch has been suspended from the Georgia Tech hoops team for violation of Institute policy.
The 6'3" sophomore guard left the team Friday, and will not play the remainder of the season.
The school would not specify why Clinch lost his eligibility.
Head coach Paul Hewitt did not rule out Clinch returning to the team next year.
Clinch played in all 14 of the Yellow Jackets games this season, starting 12 of them.
The sophomore averaged over 13-points a game while shooting 53-percent from the floor and 47-percent from three-point range.
Clinch was named honorable mention All-American as a freshman last year.
The Yellow Jackets travel to face #23 Clemson Duke, and host #5 Duke on Wednesday.
