Valdosta - After more than three months of planning, the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce has released its five-year Business Development Plan.

Chamber officials worked closely with more than 70 local business and community leaders to come up with the five-year plan.

The plan focuses on six components, including Entrepreneurial and Small Business Development and Expansion of Targeted Businesses.

They hope the economic road map will help create new jobs and enhance the quality of life in Lowndes County.  "We haven't been creating enough jobs that employ Valdosta Tech or University graduates which pay these higher wages, and that is one key element of the task forces and we hope to address that issue," says Chamber Chairman Tim Carroll.

Chamber members will now interview community leaders over the next 45 days to get their thoughts and see if the plan is feasible in the community.
