December 29, 2006

Valdosta - Two police officers in Valdosta have retired after more than half a century of combined service.

Sergeant Barry Hall is retiring after 25 years with the Valdosta Police.

Hall worked in the traffic unit, criminal investigations and he currently serves as a Patrol Supervisor.

Commander Johnnie Fason is retiring after more 30 years.

He worked in almost every area of the department and touched the lives of many people in the community.  "I know many young individuals that now a days are adults come forward and say Mr. Fason, you don't remember me but I remember when you helped me get off the streets," says Commander Fason.
