December 28, 2006

Lee County-  The Lee County Sheriff's Office has changed a lot in 32 years, and Major Thad Knight has witnesses all the growth first hand. Thursday, the Sheriff's office honored the long-time employee on his 77th birthday.

The Lee County Sheriff's office held a birthday party for the man many affectionately call Uncle Thad. Major Knight is in charge of Lee County's Court detail. Co-workers say it seems he knows just about everybody in the county.

"If you want to find anybody in Lee County Major Knight knows where they are because he's talked to them all and he's been a very integral part of this department," said Col. Duane Sapp, Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Knight doesn't plan to retire anytime soon. His primary duty is to serve the court's papers.
