Cairo -- A 63-year-old Grady County man is charged with shooting at his son Christmas Eve.
Authorities say Walter Wyatt Groves, Sr. was intoxicated, and during an argument with his adult son, Walter Wyatt Groves, Junior, the Senior Groves shot at him with a .22 rifle.
The younger Groves was not hit. "It could have turned out a lot worse than it did," said Grady County Sheriff Harry Young. "The son got out of the truck after the two rounds were fired, went around the back of the house got in an altercation, a physical altercation, taking the gun away from his daddy."
There are three charges against Groves, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities say he's attacked his son with a knife before, and spent time in prison.
