Albany -- An East Albany church reaches out to the community to make sure people in need have a Merry Christmas.
Greater Second Mount Olive church hosts an annual food and supply giveaway right before Christmas. More than 750 people came and got free food, gifts, toiletries, and clothing.
Church members and others in the community donated time, money, and various items to make the giveaway possible.
"There are a lot of people that are in need. We recognize that need, and we wanted to respond to that need," said organizer Ben Johnson.
Families who came got a free turkey donated by Phoebe and a grocery bag full of food from the church.
