Albany -- Members of a South Albany service organization say there are lots of people in need in their community, and that is why they are helping.

The Albany Prince Hall Masons prepared Christmas Food Baskets Thursday morning, and then delivered them to people in need. The Masons prepared 112 food baskets, that contained chicken, rice, fruit, vegetables, and cooking supplies, everything people would need to fix a Christmas meal.

The Masons say there are lots of people who need help feeding themselves in our community. Christine Wilson, one of the volunteers helping the Masons Christmas Food Basket drive said  "There is most definitely a need. Everywhere we go we see people who are in need. We just try at this time of year to alleviate some of that need, by giving something for at least Christmas Day."

The Masons say they give food and help to people in need in South Albany all year round, but Christmas is a special time to make sure everyone has a good meal.
