Albany -- Students from an Albany school collect hundreds of toys to send to patients at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

375 students at Deerfield Windsor marched in and gave toys for the young patients Wednesday. This is the 28th year that Deerfield students have collected toys for children being treated at St. Jude.

Long-time volunteer Joe Farris will once again play Santa and personally deliver the toys. Farris said "we're giving out the gifts in the morning at 9:30, and make these little children happy and give them a real happy and Merry Christmas with their family."

Deerfield Windsor officials say this program is a great way to teach their students about helping others while putting them in the Christmas Spirit.
