Albany -- Community leaders give South Georgia Senior Citizens Christmas Cheer.

More than 60 seniors were invited to Christmas with Grandparents at the Lockett Station Community Center Wednesday afternoon. Sponsored by the Albany Recreation and Parks Department and the Albany Police, the lunch was a chance for the seniors to join together and share in the spirit of Christmas, just for them.

Recreation Supervisor Tee Taylor said "it's a day for them to come out and have fun. Have joy, and no grand kids, no kids, no telephone calls. It's a day for them."

The Seniors were given presents donated by South Georgia businesses.

Organizers remind you to remember Senior Citizens in your community over the Holidays, to involve them in gatherings and events so they will not be alone.
