Albany -- The Monroe basketball team beat defending champ Dougherty 53-44 in the title match of the Good Life City Classic tournament at Albany High School Tuesday night.
Wilbur Lake led the Tornados with 16 points, the Trojans were paced by Bryan Bryant with 14.
It's the first tournament championship for Monroe since 2002.
Westover beat Manchester 78-71 in double-overtime in the consolation game.
Jason Jones poured in 21 points for the Patriots.
Westover's Dominique Polite, Manchester's Tabias Jackson, Dougherty's Bryan Bryant, and Monroe's Wilbur Lake and DeJuan Shannon made up the all tournament team.
Shannon is the tournament MVP.
