Lake Blackshear - - A South Georgia resort is getting bigger and better.

Monday, The Retreat Resort of Lake Blackshear will break ground on a new restaurant.

The Retreat already offers a new marina with dinner cruises on top of its 88 guest rooms, golf course, and conference center.

In September, the state of Georgia considered putting the popular lakeside resort up for sale. The North Georgia Mountain Authority, which owns the facility, initially wanted to appraise the resort to determine its value.

But earlier this month, the Authority decided it would be better to expand the facility, rather than sell it.
