Echols County - A South Georgia Tax Commissioner is under investigation.
District Attorney David Miller has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to investigate the Echols County Tax Commissioner.
Investigators say they are looking into allegations of misappropriated money.
They will now run an audit in attempts to find the missing county funds.
Commission officials say Tax Commissioner Nancy Carter has gone on voluntary paid leave until the investigation is complete.
