Brooks County Deputies arrest 3 burglars

December 12, 2006

Brooks County - Investigators say the men behind two strings of holiday burglaries are in jail tonight.

Lowndes and Brooks County investigators arrested David Spires this afternoon after they say he tried to break into a home on Ousley Road.

Brooks County deputies tried to arrest Spires Sunday, but he led them on a high-speed chase and then got away on foot.

He faces charges in Lowndes, Brooks, and Thomas Counties and three counties in north Florida.

Brooks County authorities have also announced the arrests of two other Quitman men suspected of breaking into homes in Brooks and Lowndes Counties.

20-year-old Vincent Hadley and 26-year-old Ricky Holden were caught Friday fleeing the scene of a burglary on Dixie-Barwick Road.

Investigators found stolen items and marijuana in their car.
