Albany - Another prestigious field has been assembled for the Good Life City Basketball classic. But the lack of sponsor has the future of one of the state's oldest holiday tournaments is in jeopardy.
The tournament will start on Friday and runs through next Tuesday at Albany High.
The field not only includes the four city high schools but also Bainbridge, Manchester, Swainsboro, Brooks County, Worth County and Lee County.
While the tournament has found a great field, they are still searching for sponsors.
Whose money helps feed the players and pay for hotel rooms for participating teams who are not located close to Albany.
This year's tournament will go on as planned.
However, unless a sponsor or sponsors are found, there may not be a next year.
Albany High coach Archie Chatmon, who recruits teams for the tournament, said. "We are just going to try to cut our losses this year and do the best we can. However, to keep the tournament going in the format that it is now. We need someone to come in and sponsor it for us."
Whether it is small or large donation, if you wish to sponsor the Good Life City Basketball Classic call the Dougherty County School System Athletic Department at 229-431-3308.
