Moultrie - - Its been almost a month now since a Moultrie cop shot a convenience store worker to death.

The state's NAACP President is planning a trip to Moultrie this week to meet with the family of Willie Banks.

Sgt. Bruce Hamm shot Banks to death when officers say he pulled a pocket knife at them as they tried to serve him a bench warrant.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is still working to determine if Hamm was justified in shooting Willie Banks.

The same officer also fatally shot another man back in 1997 when officers say the man shot at Hamm.

The NAACP, who said it wants a federal investigation into the incident, is planning another prayer vigil for Banks. The organization is also working with local ministers in Moultrie as they seek assistance from the U.S. Department of Justice.
