Remerton welcomes two council members

December 8, 2006

Remerton - The City of Remerton is welcoming two new city councilmen.

Six candidates met with the City Council last night, all vying for the vacant seat left by Troy Bullard when he moved out of the city last July.

Council members chose Sherry Wood to fill that seat.  Councilman John Thornton also announced his resignation because he's moving out of the city as well.

The council chose Cornelius Holsendolph as his replacement.  "Both of these individuals have lived in the city for a long time so they've seen the changes in the city of the years. Both are well rounded individual," says Remerton City Manager Brian McDougal.

Woods will be sworn in January and Holsendolph in February.
