Moultrie - An 85 year old man, who apparently thought his caretaker was hiding his things, shot her in the shoulder Tuesday afternoon, then shot and killed himself.
Moses Trimmons was found dead inside his house on Earnest Norman Road just before 7:00 pm.
Investigators say Trimmons shot Carol Ann Powell in the shoulder with a .38 caliber pistol around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, then fired a shotgun at her husband, Charlie Powell, but missed.
The Powells climbed out of a window and Trimmons holed up inside his house and wouldn't come out.
Around 6:45, SWAT officers stormed the house and found Trimmons dead with a shotgun wound to the chest. Mrs. Powell is recovering from her gunshot wound.
