Albany Tech receives national award

December 5, 2006

Albany - Technical and industrial jobs are in demand more now than ever. Albany technical college has answered the call to train students in those fields. On Tuesday, the school received one of six awards given out nationally for workforce development by the Construction Users Roundtable.

The award recognizes programs that encourage people to pursue careers in construction. Joe Dan Baker, VP of Instruction, says, "We're providing the grads that construction and industrial maintenance systems need the most and as long as we give them what they need, then I guess that's what the recognition is mainly for."

Albany Tech currently has plans for a construction academy underway.
