Valdosta - Airmen at Moody Air Force Base are mourning the loss of one of their own.

A male airman was killed this morning after a routine training session.

The airman fell off an obstacle at the base's obstacle course.

He was pronounced dead at South Georgia Medical Center.

The airman's name and rank are being withheld until his family is notified.  "Obviously the entire team Moody is devastated by this news and mourning his death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during the time of this loss," says Capt. Dustin Hart,  Chief Deputy of Public Affairs.

Moody will hold a memorial service later this month.
