Tifton - - The city is coming alive with the spirit of Christmas.

Tifton is kicking off its Festival of Wreaths fundraiser.

Area businesses decorated these and the public can bid on them in a silent auction. Funds raised will benefit the Georgia Agrirama Foundation.

City leaders say it's a great kick off to this weekend's Hometown Holidays Parade.

"We block off the streets and we have rides for the children. We have a couple professional acts, high diving in a pool of water. But the main thing, its all free," says Mayor Paul Johnson.

The city expects 25,000 extra people in town for the celebration.

The parade begins Saturday at 2 p.m.

You can bid on the holiday wreaths at Tifton's City Hall through December 9th.
