Teens arrested for car lot break in

November 30, 2006

Albany -- Dougherty County Police have arrested two teenagers, and issued an arrest warrant for a 17 year old, for stealing cars from an auto auction business.

Dougherty County Police arrested two 14 year old boys Monday night, and Thursday issued an arrest warrant for 17 year old Montrell Mallard. They are charged with stealing a car and smashing it through an electric fence at the Albany Auto Auction October 20th.

The teens were caught on surveillance video breaking into the yard, and then stealing at least three cars for joyriding. All three are charged with three counts of motor vehicle and one count criminal damage.

A number of other downtown used car lots also had cars stolen from their business in the following weeks, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
