Albany -- The Albany Recreation Department asks your help making it a Merry Christmas for children having to spend the holiday in an abuse shelter.

The Albany Recreation Department for the third year will sponsor it's "make a wish come true with a letter to Santa." In this mail box they have Christmas wishes for boys and girls living at the Bridge and Liberty House abuse shelters.

They invite you to take one of the letters, buys an item on their wish list, and help make their Christmas a little brighter. Gloria Bridges said "make the wish come true. Bring back your unwrapped gifts to the Albany Recreation and Parks Department. We'll wrap them and make sure they get to your child."

You can pick up you Santa Wish letter at the Parks and Recreation Department headquarters on North Monroe Street. They have more than 40 children's Christmas wishes waiting for your spirit of giving.
