Tifton-  In the last year, the Patticake House in Tifton has helped provide clothes to more than 300 battered and foster children, now they're asking for the community help with their Suitcases for Kids program.

Executive director Katie Brown knows a trash bag makes a lousy traveling companion. The Suitcases for Kids campaign provides children with two outfits, a pair of pajamas, and a toy to help ease the transition.

"These bags go to children who have been number one removed from their home through either DFACS, law enforcement, etc.  Secondly, the children who come through the Patticake House and our sister program, Ruth's Cottage, we are now filling those child's need as well," said Katie Brown, Patticake House Exec. Director.

You can adopt a child and fill a bag or give a monetary donation. The Suitcases for Kids Holiday Adopt a Child Project runs through the middle of December, but the Patticake House needs help all year.

To adopt a child or family you can contact the Patticake House at (229) 382-4141, or you can mail a check to Patticake House P. O. Drawer 1169 Tifton, GA 31793.
