November 24, 2006 Albany -- While many people took the day off to shop, many South Georgia accountants were at work. It's getting down to the wire for many CPA's and their clients, with end of the year taxes.
CPA Dennis Hester was at his desk going over numbers this morning. He says if you have not started getting your taxes ready, you need to get busy before it's too late.
"Charitable contributions or mortgage interest, things that if you had more income this year than next year, make sure you give to the church early this year," said Hester.
Hester said people need to go ahead and get their papers and receipts in order, because once again this year there have been a number of changes in tax law.
You may want to check with your accountant or tax preparer before the end of the year, to see if you can save some money.
