Albany -- Traditionally Thanksgiving night is a busy night at the movies as holiday blockbusters open and families look for something to do together. The Wynnsong Theater in Albany was busy.
Managers say there are several popular new releases that many people came out to see.
For some families watching a Christmas-themed movie is a way to gear up for the upcoming holiday.
"Today's a good day when they're bringing out new movies, and they had 'Deck the Halls' so we came to see it, get in the Christmas spirit," said Bruce Maples.
"We've had some early calls asking us about show times, they're trying to plan their dinner around watching it. They're coming to see it with family" said Toby Williams.
Theater managers say today is a pretty busy day at the theater, but the day after Thanksgiving is by far the busiest day of the year.
