Albany - If you were to "google" the name Haley Kilpatrick, you would stumble upon a myriad of awards: Cosmo Girl of the year, a participant in the Live your Life campaign, sponsored by American Eagle Outfitters, and most recently she was named one of the 50 most beautiful people in Atlanta by Jezebel magazine.

To top it all off, tomorrow (Friday) the 20-year old Albany native will appear on the Montel Williams show, nominated as a woman making positive changes in other people's lives. So what has this young woman from South Georgia done at such a young age to impress so many?  Well, a lot.

Haley Kilpatrick is spending her Thanksgiving holiday much like other 20 year old college students, at home with her family. She's taken a few days off of school, and her full time job as executive director of Girl Talk. "We're a student to student mentoring program."

Four years ago, Haley had a vision. She wanted to start a program where middle school girls could turn to someone who had been there before, and ask for advice. "It was just a small idea," says Haley.

A small idea in one small school in South Georgia. But it grew out of that school and into hundreds of others across the country. "We are in 21 states now." And she's not stopping there. "The goal for me was all 50 states by 2010." But in the mean time she's working to make Girl Talk as successful as possible, but she isn't doing it alone. "I don't take full credit for Girl Talk," says Haley.

But she can take credit for getting it started, and she says that's one of the things she's most thankful for today. Haley says, "I feel very lucky to know my purpose on this earth."

To learn more about Haley's work with Girl Talk, tune into WALB tomorrow (Friday) at 3 PM for the Montel Williams show. Want to learn more?  Click here:  Desire to Inspire
