Albany-  The early shopper may get the best deal Friday and it seems the shopping begins earlier and earlier each year.

Belk, J.C. Penney, and Sears at the Albany Mall will open at 5:00 a.m. The Albany Mall which was closed Thursday will open at 6:00 a.m. for shoppers looking for a bargain. While Black Friday is traditionally thought to be the biggest shopping day,  retailers say many shoppers may wait for those last minute deals.

"Typically Black Friday is the busiest day of the shopping season, but for the past few years it's gotten less and less busy on that day and more busy the two weeks before Christmas," said Debra Rowe, Marketing Director.

Shopping is expected to be the busiest this holiday season the weekend before Christmas since Christmas falls on a Monday this year.
