Thomasville-- Nancy Tillinghast, director of the Thomas County Public Library system is one of 22 librarians chosen, out of 1,300 applicants. She is being recognized for her professionalism and dedication to the community.  

"We want to get the children to read, we want to raise the literacy rates.  I try to meet the needs of the community, want to be able to grow and expand on our library facilities, we have a lot of usage in this library," says Tillinghast. 

Tillinghast will attend a ceremony in New York City next month to receive her award.
