Albany -- The annual Baconton Pecan Festival takes place at a new location for the very first time in more than three decades.
The city touts itself the birthplace of the pecan industry. Festival organizers from the Downtown Development Authority said they made the move to the Baconton City Hall building to attract more people.
Twenty-six vendors sold their food, arts and crafts, and other items. For some this festival is a family tradition, with more to be made in the new location.
"We've been coming down here the past four years, and everything keep getting better year after year. We're in a different spot now, we'll see what," said Willie Hayes.
The pecan festival is one of two annual festivals Baconton hosts each year.
