Albany -- The Arctic Bear Restaurant Christmas ornament has been a big hit for Easter Seals. In fact, it's already sold out. But don't worry, more are on the way.
Every year, Easter Seals designs a commemorative ornament for Albany and this year's features the sign from the old Albany Arctic Bear that used to be at the corner of Oglethorpe and Slappey.
Easter Seals sold all 750 in less than ten days. So they've ordered 300 more. Easter Seals Southern Georgia Executive Director Beth English said "there is really an emotional connection. People tell us stories they met their wife there, had their first date there. There is just some sort of amazing sentiment attached to the Artic Bear. Which is wonderful."
The Artic Bear opened in 1950, and stayed under the same ownership until it's closing in 1995.
The final shipment of the Easter Seals Christmas Ornament is scheduled to arrive December 13th. You can reserve one at the Easter Seals office on Palmyra Road.
