Moultrie-- GBI agents and Moultrie police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting at a convenience store. So far, investigators won't release any details.
We do know the shooting happened about eight o'clock Thursday night at a Chevron Station on North Main Street in Moultrie.
Police cordoned off the entire property as they and GBI agents investigated and interviewed the store owner. The manager of a nearby Pizza Hut restaurant was worried a dangerous robber was on the loose.
He was told there was no danger, that an officer had shot and killed a man at the convenience store.
Rick Yond said, "Yeah, a police officer is actually the one that told me that the cop actually shot the guy, because he thought he was going for a gun, when he actually pulled out a pocket knife."
We don't know the name of the man who was shot, the name of the officer who shot him, nor what led to the shooting. We do know the GBI is now leading the investigation.
