Students learn a powerful lesson

November 14, 2006

Fitzgerald -- Several high schoolers got a serious lesson in the importance of buckling up. Ben Hill County law enforcement officials used a realistic rollover simulator to send a message to the young drivers.

It shows how easily a driver or passenger can be ejected from a car that flips.

Most of the students who watched the presentation had a powerful reaction.  "Because you never know you can get killed just for a seat belt. So it reminds us to put our seat belts on before you start your car up," said Student Jarrell Paschal.

Ben Hill County authorities say three people have died in their county this year in rollover crashes.
