Donalsonville-  The last surviving member of Georgia's first Patrol Trooper School died Tuesday in Donalsonville. 

Cecil Earl Franklin, Senior was born and raised in Donalsonville. Franklin served 14 years with the Georgia State Patrol.  Franklin's first day on the road was September 9th, 1937.

He served another 20 years as an investigator for the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Franklin retired in 1971. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville.
