Undated- It took two tiebreakers but Terrell Academy emerged as the region champions in the GISA A south region.
Terrell Academy, Robert Toombs and Fullington finished the regular season tied with one region loss each and all teams beat the other.
So the three schools met at a neutral site (Crisp Academy) to play it out for the region title.
The tiebreaker was an overtime where each team got the ball at 25 yard line and had to take it on for the score.
If the game was tied after the first overtime, then both teams got a possession starting at the ten yard line.
In the first tiebreaker, Robert Toombs beat Fullington 7-6.
Terrell Academy then Robert Toombs 7-0.
The Eagles needed to beat Fullington to win the region title but the Trojans gambled on a two point conversion which they made on a three yard run by Landon Cason to win 8-7.
The three teams then played each with Terrell Academy beating Robert Toombs and Fullington to win the region title.
Terrell Academy will host Dawson Christian School from LaGrange Friday night.
Fullington beat Robert Toombs in the second tiebreaker and the Trojans are the second seed and will host Nathanael Greene.
Robert Toombs settles for third and a road trip to Thomas Jefferson in the first round in the GISA A playoffs.
In AA, Valwood beats Southwest Georgia 3-0 and Brookwood 10-3 to claim the region three title at a tiebreaker at Tiftarea Academy in Chula.
Brookwood beat Southwest Georgia Academy 6-0 to claim the second playoff spot and Southwest Georgia's season ends.
Valwood will host Gatewood in the first round of the AA playoffs and Brookwood is on the road at Brentwood.
